Guides

Volunteering is what makes Darts Garden function smoothly. There are a number of small ways to volunteer such as staffing our registration table for a couple of hours during our Open House Days, serving on a special event committee, or helping with weeding from time to time. If you have more time, you may want to join our propagation team or become a guide.

Guides

Guides of Darts Hill Garden are a group of local volunteers who guide tours on special request and for our open days. There is always room for more guides. It is a very rewarding experience that will help you build on your knowledge of the plants specific to Darts Hill. What a great way to learn about fabulous plant material! Contact Nancy Oike at 604-535-6245.

Propagation

We propagate plants at Darts Hill for replacement and expansion of the existing inventory as well as for fundraising purposes. This volunteer experience includes a commitment to meet at the garden to pot seedlings, to take cuttings and to learn various techniques from our experts - all materials will be provided. If you would like to discuss how you could participate effectively volunteering for a couple of hours from time to time please contact Nancy Armstrong at 604.538.7551. Read more about propagation at Darts.

Open House

Our Open Houses require volunteers to greet our visitors, staff the reception desk and answer questions about membership. Shifts are generally 2 hours long, so you will still have time to enjoy the garden yourself.

Marketing

As we further develop the programs at Darts, we are looking toward exploring new avenues to reach the community and to entice new visitors to the Garden. Do you have an interest or experience in Marketing? Join our team by contacting the Chair at 604.542.3003.

Education

This is an exciting new area for the Garden. Check out our Educational Support Page for more information.
